Later in the day, Saldaña wrote on her Instagram Stories that she was "truly honored" by the recognition, sharing snaps featuring herself and her family at the ceremony.
In photos from the event, Perego, 46, could be seen sitting to Saldaña's side as she posed with Abinader and wore a red ribbon around her neck. Another image showed Saldaña posing with her mother and other loved ones for a group shot, before she shared a speech of her own at the event.
Arbaje also dedicated a post to the Emilia Pérez star, writing in a translated caption that she was "so proud to see her succeed." She added, "Her talent and commitment to our roots fills us with pride. Thank you for always carrying our flag high."
"The Dominican Republic is proud of you, Zoe," Abinader wrote in his own post, featuring a montage of Saldaña's career highlights.
During the ceremony, Saldaña called the recognition “a dream come true," before reflecting on her move to the Dominican Republic as a child and the values it taught her, which she tries to instill in her own children, according to Dominican Today. Saldaña shares three sons — Cy, 10, Bowie, 10, and Zen, 8 — with Perego.

The latest recognition for Saldaña comes just weeks after she took home the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. During her speech at the Dolby Theatre on March 2, the kicked things off by shouting "Mami! Mami!" and waving at her mother, before sharing that she was "floored by this honor."
"I am a proud child of immigrant parents with dreams and dignity and hardworking hands, and I am the first American of Dominican origin to accept an Academy Award and I know I will not be the last. I hope."
Since the win, Saldaña has received props from plenty of collaborators in Hollywood, including Avatar director James Cameron. In a statement to Variety, the filmmaker, 70, said he was "so happy to see Zoe acknowledged as the world-class performer we in the Avatar family have always known her to be."
"Her acceptance speech was a noble reminder of what immigrant families bring to the U.S. and to Hollywood," Cameron said.
