Reggae Boyz drawn with Curacao, T&T, Bermuda in final round of World Cup qualifiers
3 mins read

Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz have been drawn in Group B alongside Curacao, Trinidad and Tobago, and Bermuda for the final round of the Concacaf qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The draw, conducted in Miami on Thursday, completed the grouping for the 12 national teams set to contest the last phase of regional qualification. Matches will be played during the FIFA international windows in September, October, and November.
The final round will be contested in a home-and-away round-robin format, with each team playing six matches — three at home and three away. The winners of each group will qualify directly for the 2026 tournament, joining co-hosts Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
The two best second-place finishers will advance to a FIFA intercontinental playoff scheduled for March 2026.
The 2026 edition of the men’s World Cup — the first to feature 48 teams — will kick off on June 11 at Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium and conclude on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which will be branded as the New York New Jersey Stadium for the tournament.
Concacaf could have a record eight representatives at the tournament if both intercontinental playoff teams qualify.
So far, more than a dozen teams have secured their places at the World Cup, including co-hosts Canada, the United States, and Mexico, along with defending champions Argentina. Other confirmed qualifiers include Brazil, Ecuador, Japan, Iran, Jordan, Uzbekistan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.
Sixteen teams will qualify from Europe — more than any other region.
Africa will have nine teams and Asia eight, with both also getting a place in the playoffs.
South America will have six teams qualifying directly and a playoff place. North and Central America and the Caribbean (Concacaf) will also have six direct qualifiers and two playoff places.
Oceania will only have one direct qualifier and a playoff place.
The 2026 World Cup will be the 23rd edition of football’s showpiece tournament and the first to be staged across three countries.
Jamaica’s only World Cup appearance to date came at France 1998, when they were eliminated in the group stage.
